Groundnut cake (Kadala Punnaku)
One can add these powdered oil cakes to our soil mix. One hand full in one foot bag pot mix is good enough. Mix it with potting media and keep the same wet for a week and then transplant your plants.
Procedure
For already growing plants, you can add 50 gm in 2 ltrs water and allow it to ferment.
If you have fresh cow dung you can add 100 gms ( weights +/- is ok)in the same container. Stir well and keep it closed.
After 3 days separate the clear and dilute it with 4 times water and pour to growing plants.
It will stink badly. It is very good for leafy vegetables and young growing plants which will grow well getting all needed nutrients.
Pour more water in the residue after the clear supernatant liquid is removed and keep for 15 days.
Then repeat the same dilution and pour for flowering vegetable plants .
By then the stink will reduce and it will be rich in Phosphorus , Potassium and all needed micronutrients..also loaded with useful microbes which support the soil health.
